The Soul Train Photo Exhibition, which opens to the public Friday, July 22 at Expo 72, located at 72 E. Randolph St., across the street from the Chicago Cultural Center. The public is invited to the opening night “Friday Night Groove” at Expo 72, Friday, July 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. with Chicago DJ Steve “Silk” Hurley, pioneer of Chicago’s House Music. Beginning July 29, Friday Night Groove will take place every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Expo 72 with a guest DJ through September 2. The public is invited to dance to the Soul Train beats spun by a guest DJ each week. Attendees will feel as if they have stepped onto the Soul Train set, dancing under disco balls amongst the historic photographs. Admission is free. Costume is optional. Everyone can dance and relive the days of the Soul Train when Chic-a-Go-Go tapes their all-ages television show at Expo 72’s Soul Train Photo Exhibition. Attendees will feel as if they have stepped onto the Soul Train set, dancing to Soul Train beats under disco balls amongst a retrospective of photographs. Drawing from legendary dance programs like Soul Train and American Bandstand, as well as Chicago’s own 1960s shows Kiddie-A-Go-Go and Red Hot and Blue, Chic-a-Go-Go combines classic TV entertainment with an original, whimsical style. The evening features DJ Bob Abrahamian of 88.5 WHPK’s Sitting in the Park on the turntable and Chic-a-Go-Go hosts Miss Mia Park and Ratso.

Hello soul train im phillip cornelius don cornelius is of my family down the line. I had some question and ideas about soul train, I wanted to known sent don cornelius is not the host anymore would’int be a good idea to have a person with the same last name and a family member to host the show every now and then. This is just some ideas i had, if u like my ideas hit me on my email.
I JUST WANT THE RECORD TO SHOW THAT NOT ONLY WAS I CHUCKIE A MEMBER OF THE SOULTRAIN GANG BUT A REGULAR ON THE SHOW ALONG WITH VICTOR ORSBORN, JO JO DAMITA AND THE WHOLE CREW AND DON DID’T LIKE THAT FACT THAT MOST OF THE GUYS THAT WERE GAY ON THE SHOW WERE HELPING CREATE SOME OF THOSE DANCES AND HE ALSO REFUSED TO LET CHUCKIE DANCE ANYMORE BECAUSE HE WAS A DANCING FOOL AND COULD DANCE WITH BEST OF THEM KNOW THAT.

Hello, i always dreamed of being on Soul Train. Is there a way that i might can be.
Just want to know when u will be recognizing chi-town as the place where soul train started soul train awards show. I know u all want to cater to the younger crowd, but u never include Chicago on the soul train awards shows and what soul train meant to the Chi-town steppers of the today which is goin very strong. When Don left soul train from chicago we were boppin that left a great impact on us, now we are steppin which is the same as boppin but wit more steps involved. I think it is so sad that Don and Soul train has forgotten his roots and where it all started in the CHI……..!!!!!!!
