I get that Rip the Runway is a mash-up, an alliance celebrating the affair between music and fashion. I also get that the hosts usually should be to a degree popular and fashionable. But the pairing Nicki Minaj and Pooch Hall gives me pause.

Ever since I heard the new song “Call Me” by rapper Joel Ortiz this weekend, I couldn’t get its catchy phrase out of my head. For all my old-schoolers, it reminds you of that song by Skyy that goes “call me, when you need someone to talk to / call me, satisfaction guaranteed.”
