Exclusive First Listen: Austin Brown “Colorful Tambourines”

When one thinks of black music royalty, the family that started out at 2300 Jackson Street comes to mind. It’s no surprise that the second generation of the infamous Jackson family is moon walking in the footsteps of their predecessors. One member of the family is proving he’s just as “Dangerous” as the rest when it comes to the spotlight: Austin Brown, son of Rebbie Jackson.

In this exclusive first listen, Austin is allowing listeners to check out “Colorful Tambourines,” the B-side to his newest single “Ménage à Trois.”  The song is a retro ride right down the Soul Train line all the way to the late 70s early 80s. Brown laces the track with his silky falsetto and just a hint of his Uncle Michael’s influence, and infuses an eclectic mix like a kaleidoscope that will have you dancing or wanting to throw on a pair of skates and hit the nearest roller rink. The song is multi-faceted like a prism; no matter what angle you hold it, you’ll see–or, in this case, hear–something different every time you push play.

Now you can be the judge!  Pull out your disco ball and check out Austin Brown’s “Colorful Tambourines.”
