The Force MDs, known for their most popular singles “Tender Love” and “Love is a House,” will premiere their documentary film ‘The Force M.D.’s Relived” at The American Black Film Festival, which kicks off today in Miami, FL. The Staten Island crew of Stevie D., Antoine “T.C.D.” Lundy, Rodney “Khalil” Lundy, Jessie Lee Daniels, Trisco Pearson and Charles “Mercury” Nelson started performing in Times Square in the 1980s.
They lead the convergence of R&B and doo-wop vocals with hip hop production, which changed the sound of the genre and ushered in the new jack swing style. The documentary features first accounts of the pioneering group from Boyz II Men, BBD, Tom Silverman, Afrika Bambaataa, Naughty By Nature, Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, Doug E.
