In Memoriam: Dick Clark

It is with heavy hearts that the SoulTrain.com family expresses our deepest condolences to the friends, family, and loved ones of entertainment icon Dick Clark, who died today of a massive heart attack at age 82.  Often affectionately referred to as “America’s oldest teenager”, Mr. Clark is best known as the host and producer of American Bandstand, which first aired in 1957.  In 1972, he launched New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which would quickly become an annual must-see TV engagement for Americans young and old.

From all of us here at SoulTrain.com, in the immortal words of this beloved cultural legend, “For now…Dick Clark, so long”.
