confident_lady-smSince when is a woman with strength, ambition and an opinion the new “bitch?”

On Kanye West’s newest single, the rapper yells, “No one man should have all that power.” Well what about any one woman? As men, we claim we want a lady with her own career, own mind, drive and success but usually end up with the complete opposite. There are more successful single women today than ever before. Don’t believe me? Take a trip to Atlanta, Georgia and just watch and observe.

While powerful women were busy running for President, we were busy running away from powerful women. The complex and often beautiful intricacies of a woman are underrated and placed into a box of nothingness. It’s tragic that a woman’s femininity coupled with tenacity confuses most men. The only word that brings a temporary and false sense of comfort to an insecure man in the presence of a strong woman is, bitch.

If it weren’t for strong women, there would be no me and there would be no you. If it weren’t for women with ambition, police officers would have a difficult time stopping criminals because Cathleen Mccoy Garrett, an ambitious African-American lady, invented the siren/horn light indicator. How can man maneuver through life without the power of woman? A world minus the female species is the death of mankind.

Ladies, this is for you: Power is sexy but don’t be afraid of vulnerability. We like our superwomen flawed so she can rescue us, but we can also rescue her. Don’t let your confidence, ambition and opinions overshadow other qualities. We enjoy that your skin is soft and your mind is strong but too much of anything is too bad.

Gentlemen, this is for you: Alongside any powerful man sits a lady with an opinion. No matter how old we get, we call on mother when we need inspiration and words of wisdom. A husband privately consults his wife before any major decision is made. A woman with an opinion is the relief of ice on your back on a scorching summer night. Life is about balance and sometimes the experience is simply sexier with the woman on top!

“Woman was taken out of man; not out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled underfoot; but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved” -Unknown

Pleasantries.
